Being a medical student is stressful and from the first year itself, anatomy is getting on our nerves. When life gets overwhelming our only constant are the friends we make along the way. Whenever we get a break all we can think about is hanging out and chilling.

When it comes to hanging out our first thought is usually about food. Dining out, in my opinion, binds our emotion of being together. The little things such as sharing the food amongst ourselves only highlight the experience.

So while you are in Trivandrum here are some restaurants that you don’t want to miss or your palette is gonna miss something special

1 . GOOD MORNING HOTEL, KARAMANA

Its been over 40 years since good morning hotel has been making the morning hours of the city special with its porotta and beef.  It is undoubtedly the best porotta and beef perattu you can get in the city.

Working hours between morning 6 – 12 pm and again from 3 -8 pm you can have this lip-smacking porotta beef and pappadam at 90 /-

Located in kunjalumood karamana good morning is a small shop which has a seating of fewer than 7 people but the aura of this place makes you visit it again

2. SB HOTEL, PAPPANCHANI

If one wishes to experience a good meal with a view then there look no further than SB hotel also known as sasi annans kada. Known for its kozhi perattu with puttu this resturant is located along a freshwater lake

The perfectly cooked perattu , its nice texture, and aroma is something which can't be missed out.

3. TERRACE by MAKKAWOA

Terrace by makkawoa is one of the major hangout spots for many in the city. The restaurant offers many cuisines like Chinese, North Indian, South Indian, and Arabic

One of the highlight dishes, the chicken extreme max breast is a must-try.

One of the highlights of the chicken is the masala in it. The chicken is not too deep-fried instead they are more like al faham with some raw masala mix on the top. They also provide a khubz along with it but they could have made it two. Having the masala, chicken along with khubz is heavenly. At 180 /- this is worth the try.

4. CHAIHOLIC, shasthamangalam

As the name suggests this place is for the chaiholics out there..

Amidst the pandemic, we all don’t prefer to have something from outside and that’s when chaiholic brings biscuit chai in Kerala for the first time. originally biscuit chai was introduced by a local tea shop owner in Tamil Nadu.

Yeah, you heard it right biscuit chai in which the chai is served in a cup biscuit. After having the chai have the biscuit and you are done.

Being a zero-waste process and no worries of using a paper cup or glass in this situation have a try of biscuit chai when you are around sasthamangalam.

5. BBQ SPACE, SPENCER JUNCTION PALAYAM

We all have had that NRI friend who complains about the shawarmas being served here. To a extend it seems to be true as cabbage used to be a major chunk of the shawarmas.

So that’s when bbq space introduced its shawarma outlet a few months back and they provide pocket-friendly and quality shawarmas which include rumali roti chicken and beef shawarma, and fish shawarma.

The best they have is the rumali beef shawarma with cheese spread at 140/-
